Firm History
The roots of Petsas & Hill go deep into the 40's and 50's. L. H. Peterson and Associates, Public Accountants were established in Richmond, CA during World War II. Gilbert Cartwright, CPA opened his public accounting practice in 1954. As these two practices evolved over the years, the mantle was passed to a younger generation. In 1972 the firm of Stephens & Petsas, CPAs took over the work of the Peterson firm, continuing the high quality of service to the community. Gil Cartwright was joined in practice by his daughter, Alison.
In 1987 Jack Hill joined the firm as a shareholder and shortly thereafter, Mila Coffey moved up from her staff member role to that of a shareholder in the firm. Alison Cartwright Mitchell merged her practice into the firm in 2000.
As of July 1, 2009, Jack Hill reduced his role in the firm and retired July 1, 2010. Carl Uratsu became the newest shareholder of the firm.
